Welcome to the website of the Zia Spacemodelers, a rocketry club serving Los Alamos, NM, and surrounding communities.

Launches

We are back in business!

Thanks to the efforts of Robb and Tom we now have permission to launch again at our site in the Palacio Arroyos Recreation Area, a division of the BLM Taos Field Office. We held our first launch on Feb 16, 2025, and will continue every third Sunday of the month for the foreseeable future.

Please read the new launch site rules here. Note that these are BLM requirements for use of the field.

Please read the 2017 incident report and Tom's rocketry safety reminder. It's important for everyone that we stay focused on launching safely.

Meetings
We have had no meetings for some time. Hopefully that will change this year.
The 2017 Annual Meeting and semi-annual nightly launch was at Rob Hermes' house. (No pictures of that yet, either.)
